smaken
I was diagnosed as a T1D in 1968 in Vietnam after an injury. 50 years as Type 1! The first 20 were the most difficult as there were no glucometers. then!
I got my first pump in 1987 and been happy with the technology. I still sail, play tennis and ride motorcycles. So, no complaints. I get my care from the VA and use whatever pump is in vogue with them at the time, so have used most pumps over the years. I currently have a Ping and will probably get a Tandem when they are available.
My A1C the last 3 years is 5.9 to 6.3
I am retired so able to spend a LOT of time managing this disease. Diet, LOTS of finger sticks daily etc
I have never been to ER (except for motorcycle accidents)! usually in Mexico where I have lived part time the past 20 years.
I think I will enjoy this forum and learn from it.
