Abott Freestyle Libre trial

Some people are still able to find the 10 day sensors at their pharmacies. You can ask around and see if they can get them. The only sensors that don’t work with the add on devices are the U.S. 14 day version. No other country ever had the 10 day version and our 14 day version is the only one that got this extra encryption. You can try Amazon and eBay but beware you will have to buy the corresponding reader from the same country of origin that the sensors come from as the readers will not scan other countries libre sensors.

Getting one of the add on devices will take a month or longer as the shipping is really basic coming from China and India.

I occasionally get a bruise from the libre but only if I hit a blood vessel.

I need a device telling me what is going on 24/7. I often test when I wake up or when awake anyway if there isn’t a recent test to make sure it is right. If you don’t really need a cgm go for it, you are lucky.

What do you mean add on devices, the receiver? I will check out the price to see if I can try another one, but I’m sticking with dex for now for sure.

The add on devices for the libre are the blucon nightrider and the Miaomiao. They both work like the transmitters do on the dexcom.

At this time I would definitely recommend you stay on the dexcom since being able to get the sensors for the libre that will work with the transmitters is difficult, as well as the issues the spike app developers are having with iPhone shutting down the app.

Don’t know if/when Libre 2 is coming to US, but sounds interesting. Will have alerts.
