Afrezza rep in TX to get samples?

Ray there were over 3000 prescribers of Afrezza since launch and 300 new ones in the last few months, almost half of Afrezza Rxs were written by endos.

Al Mann brought to market the insulin pump via Mini MED as we know it today is now Medtronic and is worn by tens of thousands of patients. he spent over 30 years bringing new and improved ways to help people manage their diabetes and personally spent over $1.5B ensuring Afrezza could come to market. He put his money where his mouth was. Please stop spreading false information and choosing to be ignorant.

Endos responding to requests from patients, or using afrezza for patients in convenience circumstances such as traveling, or experimenting with it in general, is a far cry from actually recommending afrezza for regular prandial use. Indeed, Dr. Del Prato presenting at this year’s ADA meeting had some some less than kind things to say in his presentation about inhaled insulin.

More significantly, afrezza has been on the market or over a year and a half now. From its peak last October, afrezza total scripts dropped steadily from 627 to the most recent 276. New scripts themselves dropped from 421 to 117.

Mannkind allegedly has had sales reps in the field for 4-6 weeks now. New scripts went from 80-90 to 117 in that period. Compare that to Sanofi which managed to go from zero new scripts to 171 in the first six weeks after introduction. I think that should make the general attitude of endos more clear.

So you’re claiming the Al Mann was disingenuous? Really? You lost all credibility with that statement.

You appear to know detailed facts about Afrezza in the marketplace. Could you please disclose your full position regarding Afrezza? Do you own any Afrezza stock or have taken a short position to make money on Afrezza if the price goes down. Do you have any other relationship with Afrezza other than an interested person with diabetes?

Since I’ve asked you some pointed questions, I will disclose my full relationship with Afrezza. I am an Afrezza user. I use it mostly for high blood sugar corrections but also in situations when I cannot adequately pre-bolus with my pump. I’ve been using Afrezza since March of 2015. I use it almost every day. I find it produces excellent results.

I did own some Afrezza stock last year and have sold it at a significant loss. I own no stock in Afrezza now, either long or short.

We’ve had the occasional visitior to this site who seem more motivated by investment rather than the clinical effects of Afrezza. Please disclose your full relationship with Afrezza.

I offered two choices. Either he was being “disingenuous” or else someone gave him bogus data. I think the assertion that a survey showed 25% of doctors would recommend afrezza to their patients for use as a regular prandial is simply nonsense.

I have never had any financial interest in Mannkind one way or another. Never owned stock. Never shorted the stock. Never owned anything remotely related to making money off of MNKD in any way, shape, or form.

Ray11 is part of an army of spammers paid to disseminate misinformation about Afrezza on diabetic forums and elsewhere. He quotes Dr. Del Prato from ADA, who is also a paid stooge of Sanofi. The head of JDRF, who is an actual Afrezza user, describes Afrezza as “a miracle”. Sanofi and other competing insulin manufacturers are saturating all diabetic forums with these “plants” because they know how amazing this drug really is! Afrezza is every other insulin manufacturers worst nightmare. Ultra fast acting, it mimics the action of a healthy pancreas, allowing T1 & T2 diabetics to live non-diabetic lifestyles and achieve lifetime best A1C’s without even trying. And without fear of hypnosis because

Do you receive any compensation or non-cash inducements from any other company in the diabetes market?

Do you have diabetes? Why do you post on TuDiabetes? In general terms, how do you earn a living? I’m not asking you these questions to compromise your privacy. Your articulate and intimate knowledge of the diabetes marketplace infers an association well beyond the average diabetic’s.

Sorry… hypos because it is in and out of your system so fast. The convenience of being inhaled and not requiring refrigeration are just added bonuses. Afrezza will give all diabetics freedom from this awful, life-defining disease. It is the closest thing to a cure to-date. And the big pharmaceutical companies are doing everything in their power to destroy it. Hence you will find Ray11’s on every discussion board disseminating garbage to try and prevent diabetics from trying it. Because once they do try it, they will never use any other prandial insulin. And will say goodbye to their pumps forever. Afrezza is freedom from diabetes. Freedom to live a normal life. Ask anyone who is actually using the drug. And be aware that the Ray11’s are being paid to prevent you from discovering this!

No, I do not.

“Do you have diabetes?”

I am not diabetic.

“Why do you post on TuDiabetes?”

Trying to help.

“…how do you earn a living?”

I’m retired and live off my SEP/IRA which does NOT have any pharmaceutical or health related investments except for a tiny left over fragment of SCMP, a company that has nothing to do with diabetes.

I suppose that for full disclosure I should admit that John Lechleiter, the former CEO of Eli LIlly, was the valedictorian of my high school graduating class. However, I didn’t like him then and haven’t seen him since so that is hardly an influence.

I disseminate facts; how diabetics use them is their business. If you find anything false or incorrect and have the proof I will immediately amend any comment.

I remain curious, and frankly skeptical, as to the genuine interest of a non-diabetic participating here. We are a community fo people touched by diabetes. People here either have diabetes or one of their loved ones is diabetic.

My skepticism remains. People here don’t talk about rising or falling prescription orders. Your coments, to me, betray a conflictied interest. I could be wrong. It wouldn’t be the first time.

I’ll repeat what I said in my reply to “hiswelshness”:

“I disseminate facts; how diabetics use them is their business. If you find anything false or incorrect and have the proof I will immediately amend any comment.”

There is nothing wrong with skepticism as long as it doesn’t lead to blindness.

And my comment regarding prescription data related to my reply to the assertion by “Castgna2011”:

“Ray there were over 3000 prescribers of Afrezza since launch and 300 new ones in the last few months, almost half of Afrezza Rxs were written by endos.”

The current prescription numbers suggest that very few physicians in general are prescribing it. My own opinion is that practically no endo is prescribing for regular prandial use. Indeed, since it has been on the market over a year and a half one would think that at least one endo would go on record in a scientific journal somewhere relating his/her own experience with it.

Why have you taken it upon yourself to join a disease forum which is in no way related to your life and “disseminate facts”

That would be just as odd as me joining an AIDS forum to “try to help” when I’ve never known a single person with that condition. The vast majority of your posts on this forum have been regarding afrezza. Frankly, I’m not buying your story either. You wouldn’t be the first afrezza troll to come through here.

I do have diabetes. I do use afrezza, almost every day. It has changed my life tremendously. I purchased some shares of the company after seeing first hand how well it works (never more than 0.5% of my net worth) and later sold at a loss— but continue to be every bit as excited about how well it has worked for me.

I’m glad you can say that it has “changed my life tremendously,” but obviously not everyone else will necessarily have the same results. You surely would not deny anyone the full contingent of available data on which to base their own decision, would you? As I said already, find an error and provide some proof and I will readily amend the comment.

I look forward to seeing Ray11 and his cohorts in handcuffs. Truth will prevail. Afrezza is a revolution. Enough said.

@Ray11 - Like I wrote earlier, almost everyone on this forum has a personal connection to diabetes. Your participation here, since November 2015, has been almost exclusively on the topic of Afrezza. I don’t have proof but my radar for a shill is very high wih you. I’d like to think you are motivated simply by altruism, but this is not my first time to the rodeo.

I am highly suspicious of what you write. Unless and until you provide some overwhelming source of credibility, I will not be influenced by your positions.

I have been tremendously helped by honest participation in this forum. You bring zero value for me!

That’s your option. Like I said, I provide FACTS. If you can offer something to counter them, fine. If you wish to ignore them, fine. However, name calling – i.e. “shill” – hardly seems productive to patients seeking information here, does it?

So you are, in fact, a philanthropic altruist who likes to post on diabetic forums warning of the dangers of Afrezza. Well that makes perfect sense. So glad you cleared up that misunderstanding.
