Anyone else see the announcement between Animas and the JDRF this week? If so, what do you think?
Glucose sensors are by technical limitation reporting glucose values several minutes old. Any system based on that will always be responding to, not anticipating, any changes. I like knowing what I plan to eat, expect to level out at, etc., and don’t trust a few lines of code in pump software to react for me as well as my own years of experience. For people who have insulin resistance, having a closed loop keep up with glucose and insulin might be a great help, especially if the resistance factor changes through the day. But, they wouldn’t have “juvenile” diabetes.
