Any advice on low carb diet?

Lol

Do you have the recipe for seed bread that I can have?
I understand about the eating at home thing
The substitute for bread is for a sandwich at work
I don’t eat alot in the day but still need something quick and easy to carry me through until the end of work

I agree .Good advice

I appreciate everyone’s advice and suggestions.Thank you
I appreciate VirginiafromUK suggestion but that dosage would harm me.My ISF is different and I only weigh 140 pounds and only use regular injection methods.
I only need a couple of units of novo rapid when I stick to a low carb diet but things get complicated and precarious the more starchy foods I eat,my control diminishes.

I guess I I need to test more at work

Eat to your meter method

@ Donman90:

I’d love to have the Nutty/seedy loaf recipe. It sounds delicious. I gave up bread, and the one bread I did find called “Barely Bread” is $14 per loaf with a $24.95 shipping fee. I surely cannot afford that.

I hadn’t thought of spiralizing zucchini, that sounds good too.

I miss pizza, but haven’t tried to make an alternative pizza base yet. I have to be so careful, because if I go over a certain amount of carbs, it doesn’t matter how much extra insulin correction dose I inject, the BG’s just keep rising.

A 1:4 ratio would kill me too.

Hi John131 I replace regular bread with Weight Watchers bread, and the only fruit I eat is berries or little bits of apple. Good-luck!

I get most carbs from vegetables. Very occasionally I will eat a little rice or quinoa pasta.

I find that, if I microwave potatoes and then add them into food… or cook a day ahead and refrigerate overnight… the carb is altered into a “resistant starch.” VERY easy on the blood sugars

That is very interesting. I may have to try this. Potatoes have been on my “avoid” list. Has this been your experience in all recipes with potatoes or just plain ones?

All types of “white” potatoes. Sweet potatoes of all color… not so much.

I can’t wait to try this. Thank you.

Thank you for the Chia pudding recipe. I’m going to try this.

I never knew you could still go about in potatoes. I’ll try this too!
Before I was diagnosed, I would eat potatoes almost everyday.

I make these crackers almost weekly. They’re super easy and delicious. They barely touch my BS. And very flexible if you want to modify the recipe.

I also find that whole grain g-free bread, one slice, is pretty okay for my ratios. I like Moxy.

When I eat fruit I stick to berries and fruit with the peel (green apples and kiwi–yes, eat the skin, it’s where all the nutrients are.)

I also wholeheartedly recommend the Whole30 diet. When I was on it my BS was perfect all the time.

Carbs are not equal. Fruit carbs and processed flour/sugar carbs will require different insulin amounts.

This is a great recipe! I totted it up in MFP, and the macros for a double-portion of the seed crackers comes out pretty good for those of us on low-carb, high fiber diets! That recipe for 10 (rather than 20) servings yields:

12g fats
9g carbohydrate
7g dietary fiber
7g protein

I think I’ll get those ingredients and give it a try! Those with cream cheese, just plain old cheddar, or hummus (in moderation) would be pretty awesome. The only other luck I’ve had with “crackers” is by modifying fathead pizza dough (rolled thinner, doctored with seeds, and baked to within an inch of its life), which doesn’t quite come out as crispy as I’d like.

Thanks for this recipe. I plan on trying it.

I am going to try it, thanks for the recipe link. I miss having a cracker with cheese.

Try chicken crust pizza. Typically ground lean chicken, egg, mixed with mozzarella cheese, herbs of choice, then baked (almond flour, coconut flour, or ground chia can also be added). I prefer the version without almond or coconut flour. I think chia seeds makes it sturdier.

This might not be helpful but, eliminating rice, potatoes, pasta, bread and fruits from my diet made things so much simpler. It does take some getting used to it but its doable. I learned to eat that way when I was on the Keto diet. I am no longer on the diet but still eat low carb just more protein, vegetables and less fat now.

I eat mostly salad and low fat protein also.
I still eat 3 pieces of bread a day and 2 apples and an orange at different intervals in the day.
What can I substitute Ăžhe fruit with, healthy quick alternative?
