Anyone else hate the Freestyle strip bottle?

THEY’RE TOO SMALL!!!

When they’re full, you have to practically dump the bottle out into your hand to get a strip out… it’s kinda annoying… it’s the same size as the OneTouch bottles that hold 25 strips, but with 50 in them!!

yes! i totally agree! it’s just a TAD annoying when getting the first 25 out. I wonder why they did that…

Really, I hate all the bottles… except for the glucocard strip bottles. They have a small opening, so only one or two can get out at a time.

I was just cursing the One Touch bottle last night, and my fingers are fairly slim.

Well, my PDM uses the Freestyle strips, so i’m kinda stuck with it. I can’t really complain, as it’s really accurate (the result i got was like 5 points off of what my Dr.'s meter got)

And i use the Accu-Check Multiclix, and LOVE IT! I just HATE the Freestyle strip bottle

Awww, I like my little freestyle meter. lol Just not touching strips in bottles. I prefer the Breeze 2, as it’s in cartridges you stick in the meter, and it’s pretty darn accurate (I just can’t buy those strips, right now, as no insurance). One Touches have never worked for me. Those Ultra Minis have just been awful… 30 and 40 points lower than my actual numbers…

I had trouble with my Ultra Smart being sometimes 100 points off. My Ultra Link wasn’t too great either, my UltraMini also ran lower than i really was, and i just haven’t had a good experience with them

My main meter is the freestyle lite. Like Lizmari, love the meter, and hate strip bottle. I also use a relion for testing new foods and find it close to my freestyle numbers. The strips , relion ultima, are also individually wrapped. Cool space wise, but that would a bigger pain if I was using it to test >10 times a day. To get around the freestyle issue, I just keep an extra empty bottle around and dump half the new bottle into the spare.

Ha ha, like your meter? My wife thinks my meter is my new best friend.

Maybe to save plastic or something…? They’re the only company i know of that puts 50 strips in a tiny bottle like that!

hah… While I love the FreeStyles, I’ve never had any huge waste problems with my Breeze 2. I guess I’m just extra careful that all strips are filled properly, for all meters… because that problem can happen with any meter, really… It’s not meter specific. That mini is the only one that has that technology, that I know of…

I hate the one touch bottles. The first time i got those strips, i was so upset i ouref two vials into one, like my freestyle bottles haha

I used OneTouch for a while, due to the small (compared to my really old Accu-Check at the time) sample size, and the log book, and all the neat features… then my insurance expired, and we had to buy strips for a while, and got the Accu-Check Aviva (I HATE that meter.) Then i got the OmniPod, and the PDM takes Freestyle strips. I occaisonally have a problem with not getting the strip to actually take the blood (for some reason… idk why, it just won’t take the blood), and it seems sensitive to food that might be on my finger, but that’s all. It’s a great meter, and they even sent me a Freestyle flash (love that one too) in case the PDM fails.

The strip bottles, however, are annoying. Haha.

I liked my accucheck where the strips came in a drum but my insurance prefers the freestyle but guess I’m stuck with it
