I received a letter from my insurance company today saying that I have been approved to purchase a Dexcom CGMS. When I saw the letter I assumed that it was going to be a denial, so I was surprised and thrilled to see the approval.
I hope that I love Dexcom as much as the rest of you. I imagine I’ll have some questions when I receive it, but until then I’ll read old posts to learn as much as I can.

Awesome Lathump! Glad that you fought for it and I think that you will be most pleasantly surprised at how easy and uncomplicated the Dex is to use. If more people fought for them instead of just letting the insurers tell them that it is not covered, we would all benefit. I am concerned about Medicare not covering either the Omnipod or the CGM, but hopeful that by the time my husband retires that will have changed. Melissa will be changing to Medicare at that time. We can’t even seriously think about her ever living elsewhere, because her Medicaid will not cover them either. At this time she is supposed to be covered for life as long as she lives with us, by my husband’s employer, because of her lifelong disability.
