I see no one has removed the offensive posts. Thanks a lot to those of you here who only “protect” those that you like. I’m disgusted with this site for the mod’s bias.
I am extremely frustrated!!! I sometimes say things like that when I am frustrated. If I can’t get these angled infusionsets to work I’ll have to go with other options.

We all know that diabetes takes unique twists and turns. I hope trying other infusion sets will work for you. I may may try it as well. If it doesn’t, I will continue to react to get my bg down as fast as I can. Planning (estimates of basals rates, duration of insulin, etc.) is important and a foundation for good management but reacting to unforeseen situations, as the occur frequently, is equally or more important. Hopefully we will be successful in doing both.
I sure hope so! Medtronic delivered my samples today. I won’t try it until I am ready for a site change which is on the 21rst. Wish me luck.
I don’t know what else to do. My sites will sometimes go days without being in blood and then it will happen 2 or 3 times in a row. My samples came today but I won’t try them until my next site change which is one the 21rst. Medtronic sent me 4 of them. How nice. When I first started pumping I used the inset30s. I couldn’t get the angle correct. With these I can see the area better to which I am inserting. Are you a thin build? I am 5ft tall and 98 lbs.
No, I’m not thin but am normal weight. I’m 5’8” and 152 pounds. I also used the Inset 30s for several years. I liked their built-in inserter. I stopped using them, however, when my preferred abdomen sites stopped dependably absorbing.
I think experimenting with sets that are new to you is a good place to start your troubleshooting.
Thankyou. This site I put in yesterday is still going strong. Thank God. I really hope these infusionsets work. Do you ever get kinking with the silhouettes? I don’t remember who it was that told me to put the infusionset in the freezer for a couple minutes in order to stiffen the cannula. The only problem with the plastic cannulas are that they are a one shot deal. If it gets in a vein there ain’t no removing it and placing it elsewhere. With the metal insets I kinda limit myself where I can place my sites. I used to use the sides of my butt but if I lay on my side I can feel it. Not very comfortable.
One shot deal?
Maybe …
If you have a failure, they can be replaced.
I did have one time when I had an insertion failure due to it being very painful (and I was low on sets), where I carefully reinserted the introducer needle and inserted into another area of my body.
Oh, okay!! That is sweet! Now I don 't feel so bad. I guess like my sensor. If I get a bleeder I call dexcom and tell them that. I never thought of doing that with my infusionset. Will Medtronic replace it even if I didn’t order from them? I have a few places where I order pump supplies. I check the places where I order and whoever has the best deal, that’s where I will order from.
I order mine through Edgepark. I called them and they transferred me to Medtronic. I also didn’t know this was an option. When I told the MDT CSR, that I had lost 4 sites due to exercise over the last 90 days, they sent me a box of 10.
Very Sweet! I live in Windsor Ontario Canada and I use Diabetes Express, The Diabetes Shop & Diabetes Depot. The outlets usually have sales on their infusionsets. This past summer before I went on vacation, I had scrapped 3 infusionsets in one day due to being in blood. Now I am going to call if that happens again. Thanks for reminding me that calling for a replacement is an option.

I use to have bent cannulas and hit veins often. I switched to 30 degree insertion with T swim. They have 2, one is self inserted and one auto insert. This has made issues much less frequent. Scar tissue is a problem so I change ut every 2 days. Endo wrote script for this.
which pump do you use?
Hope this helps.

I am on a medtronic 630g. I have been having problems with my site being in blood. I am lean so I called medtronic to get samples of silhouette infusionsets. Just this afternoon my tsure inset failed and I tried an angled inset. I only inserted the needle in the skin just a little bit. I didn’t go too deep. I think that that is my issue. The depthness. If this site works than that is the secret. Not to go too deep. Which inset do you use?
I have verisift Infusion sets from Tandem
I went through many before this one seems to do OK
I am very slim also and have had tea one 50 years
I insert just under the skin at about 30°
Hope med Tronic has a similar product that can work for you

After lunch my tsure stopped working so I changed my set. I tried a silhouette infusionset this time. By this time it was almost time for supper. So I bolussed and to my surprise it started to come down. Hallelujah!! I inserted it at a 20 degree angle and this time I didn’t go too deep. Just about under the skin. I think I finally found my Sweet spot ! It feels great!! Hopefully it won’t fail like they’re Ts did.
Well, I went through the night and no problems. I think that that is the secret. Not to go too deep. I would like to try me arm again now that I know how far I can go. When I used the autosoft 90s the cannula was buried under the skin and I thought that on these insets it had to go deeper. I guess not.
Great to hear the news. When I have a high BG and not sure whats up. I have a new mantra….When in doubt…Rip it out! Have spent too many hours waiting for correct to kick in and I hate being high! Do you take injection when get too high or correct with bolus?
How do you like Medtronic? I am loving my t ski and great tech support!
Best
