Could you please donate your USED sensors to research?

Gil,
I don't know if you need any more used sensors, I had one fail this afternoon so had to replace it, if you want it let me know, I'll ship it to you.
Clare

Hi Gil,
Are you still looking for sensors? I've got a G4 I just pulled out that I'd be happy to send along; just let me know if you need/can use it.
Can you enlighten us as to what you are looking at on our used sensors? Just curious!
Thanks!
Skye

OK so I did send the package on 7/2, but it was returned today because I had put 940 Webster St. not 920 Webster St.
If you still need any please let me know and I will re ship it.

yup will do!! These things are littering up the house bigtime...

Hope it helps!! let me see if I can find a couple when I get home today!

Did you make the move to palo alto then!!! I am so pleased!!

natalie

Yes, I've received a couple but could use a couple more. Thanks! Gil.

Thanks!
Yes, we're in Palo Alto now.
Gil

Hi Clare, I've received it. Thank you! Gil.

Hi Kate, I've received it. Thank you! Gil.

Hi Skye, I've received it. Thank you! Gil.

Hi all,

I've received enough used sensors for now, and even a couple of "new-but-expired" ones.

Thank you everybody!

Cheers,
Gil

Good to hear I'm glad you finally got it, I had the address wrong in the original shipment. But it just meant you got 2 instead of one.

Yep. Thanks!

Hello all,
I was wondering if anybody has a broken Dexcom transmitter that is no longer used. If so, could you send me a couple? We only need 2 of them.

The address has changed:
Pancreum LLC
Att. Gil dePaula
965 Sutter St. #123
San Francisco, CA 94109

Thank you again!

Gil

I haven't heard of the transmitters actually "breaking" mostly I believe the batteries finally just die. The receivers that's another story entirely but generally if it breaks Dexcom wants it returned.

Gil - I have a 7+ transmitter that I not longer use because I'm on the G4. Do you want that?

I am really suspicious about this request. Wouldn't collecting used sensors potentially allow the Pancreum folks to steal proprietary information that Dexcom worked hard to uncover?

OPSEC defines proprietary information as:

"Material and information relating to, or associated with, a company's products, business, or activities, including but not limited to financial information; data or statements; trade secrets; product research and development; existing and future product designs and performance specifications; marketing plans or techniques; schematics; client lists; computer programs; processes; and know-how that have been clearly identified and properly marked by the company as proprietary information, trade secrets, or company confidential information. The information must have been developed by the company and not be available to the government or to the public without restriction from another source (NSTISSI 1997)."

I don't see anything suspicious or unethical at all. The products that Dexcom sells are not proprietary in nature. Gil could just buy one from American Diabetes Wholesale or ebay or something. It would be like Pepsi buying a Coke. Or Samsung opening up an iPhone.

Keep up the good work, Gil!

Etta Amy,
Everyone does this. It's not illegal at all. If you go to Ford HQ, there will be dismantled cars from all the other manufacturers, etc, etc, etc. What is proprietary is protected by patents.

Are the batteries replaceable or is the device useless after that? Thanks Clare.

Hi Mike,
Yes, please:

Let me know if you want some in return for postage, etc.

Thanks,
