DASH in a Middle School near YOU soon!

We are proud to introduce our DASH pilot programs in middle schools! What?! DASH is in schools? Sweet. At the West Oakland Middle School (WOMS)we had our first program and it was awesome! DASH had the opportunity to teach and of course play with some of the coolest kids at WOMS during Mr. Gully’s P.E. class. We were able to set up a fun, interactive relay race that included diabetes education, free throw and layup competition, as well as a parachute run! To say the least, it was a furry of fun, and hopefully next year we can add the likes of Stephen Curry #GSWHOOPS. DASH in schools means comfort between the students, diabetes, teachers, coaches, nurses, and administrators; essentially the beginning of a diabetes all star team in schools. For more on our school programs or perhaps to get your school involved please contact Chevy at Lucas@dashcamp.org and ask a question. Hope to see you all out for our DASH camp at Bushrod Park in July! Here’s how to register: http://dashcamp.org/registration/

Better than nothing, perhaps. But I was doing the DASH diet when I was dx with T2 Diabetes. It is waay too high in carbs for a diabetic. If that is not your concern, perhaps it will help. Good luck...Judith in Portland.
