Great idea Holger. That’ll come in handy for many People including myself. Thanks!

Tut mir leid!

Haha this is awesome… I didn’t know there were that many German people on this site… I moved to America from Germany three years ago… but this is a really good idea… a lot of new words

New terms: Apotheke, Cholesterin, Gewebeflüssigkeit, Herz-Kreislauf-Erkrankung, Kapillarflüssigkeit, Stechhilfe, Zertifizierter Diabetesberater.

Very good idea.

Very nice! Thank you!

One small correction:

Teststreifen = test stripe = stripe

In U.S. English, they are written: “test strip” – strip, with no “e” at the end.

@JeanV: Thank you! I corrected that.

Is “Zuckerkrankheit” considered hopelessly old fashioned and out of date now?

i.e. is it painful for a young German to hear, maybe like in the US when we hear Wilfred Brimley say DIABEEETIS?

I actually like the German words, they made much more sense to me than the latin- and greek-derived crud they taught us in English class. Kohlenstuff, Waserstuff and Sauerstuff is way better than carbon, hydrogen and oxygen.

@Tim: Zuckerkrankeit is great. I have added it. It is still used but as you have already pointed out it is old fashioned.

LOL, DIABEEETIS is painful. We learn Oxford English at school which is a nice theory. Then in places like Yorkshire we will start to recognize that local accents rule the world.

New terms: Arzt, Ärztliche Bescheinigung, Basalrate, Temporäre Basalrate, Pennadel, Vorfüllung
