Dexcom G6 sensor bleeding

The sensors staying on better or worse is different for everyone. Some people like you can’t get the sensors to come off (BTW, get some Tackaway or similar product. It will make the Dexcom fall off after a few minutes) and others who break into a sweat and the sensor just un-adheres.

The dexcom does work for some people for 30 days or more but for me if I bother to restart a sensor the dexcom stops working at about 19 days consistently. This is probably due to body chemistry. I personally would be happy with a 14 day sensor since this would give me a set day of the week to change the sensor.

I also had a bloody sensor, but it was also very painful. Dexcom advised it was probably the site, and said I should not continue to use a sensor that is painful. They sent me a replacement sensor the next day.

That’s good to know, Barry2. Thanks.

We surely don’t want to go back to the ‘good old days’ before BG testing and worse, before insulin injections!

I’ve not seen blood, but have noticed regularly that after about a week the adhesive starts to let go and edges peel up. On one occasion the sensor became dislodged by a minor impact because of the lack of adhesion. Had to change out a few days early.
