Today my son was diagnosed with depression. His dad and grandpa are both on antidepressants so we know it is genetic. He is 12 and we have had type 1 for 2 and a half years. I am really scared to start this medication. On the paperwork it says DO NOT give this medication to children under the age of 18. Of course I have an appointment to talk with his endo tomorrow but always get way better advice here than anywhere else. Has anyone had experience with antidepressants and diabetes in a preteen? I will say his endo knows best! For me am 30 years and been taking Zoloft for the last 3 years with no side effects!
However I know they been talking about increasing emotions when taking it in preteen years. Again am not 100% sure, but his endo or a Physc knows best!
