Does anyone here wear shoes specifically made for diabetes?

I was approached by a salesman of Aetrex shoes that has a line of shoes that are supposed to be easy on the diabetic foot. Does anyone have any experience with this company or any other shoe brands that specifically tout that they are designed with the diabetic in mind? Aetrex supposedly might be covered by my medical insurance.

Hi Tanny,

Aetrex shoes are actually a leading manufacturer in diabetic and orthopedic footwear. Their "APEX" line is more geared towards orthopedic/diabetic footcare and most come with two removable insoles for added and double depth. They also feature the ambulator/biomechanical line where an extra wide toe box allows for a roomier fit.
