YMMV…but for me and my insurance plan, as of July 1, 2023 - Express Scripts covers Insulin Lispro.
Checking prices with ES, Humalog is listed at $247.23 and Insulin Lispro is at $22.50 for 10 mL vials.
So if you have Express Scripts as your prescription provider - check to see if has been added to the formulary for your plan. I attached my current formulary to this post.
And when your doctor writes the prescription, make sure it is for INSULIN LISPRO - no substitutions. Otherwise, ES will likely substitute the 10x more expensive Humalog. Happened to me.
