Wow! That had to be scary. I have been lucky because that has never happened to me. But, all too often I will wake up in the middle of the night with a low. When at home, my husband knows the drill. But I travel a lot on business and spend way too many nights alone in the hotel rooms. On those nights I sleep with glucose gel, glucose tablets, and raisins on the night stand. But on a few occasions while traveling, I hit a low at night, and although I consumed enough to fix the low, I would force myself to stay awake the rest of the night out of fear of a too low low. This is a disease where family and friends and sometimes even work colleagues sure can give peace of mind.
