has anyone else experienced a soreness on Day 7 w/the new G4?
I was told by my old rep I could wear the 7 for 10 days...and she was right. No issues. But with the new G4 I can't. Rt after I restart the sensor, it says crazy things like 457 or 29..so I'm forced to change it. At this point, Im tempted to switch back.
Anyone else?

I usually experience soreness immediately after I have inserted the sensor. It lasts for a couple of days and then passes. But it also depends on where the sensor is placed. My arms get sore if I am using them a lot. I currently have the sensor on my thigh and it is not sore at all. I have worn the same sensor for almost 2 weeks with no change in accuracy.Even when restarting it a couple of times. But others have them on for 3 weeks without crazy readings.
- No soreness for me on day 7
- I am on day 11 of my second sensor with no problems. For me, G4 seems more accurate than Sys 7
I haven't had any soreness or change in accuracy during the 14 days I wore each of the first 2 G4 sensors. I've also noticed a slight accuracy improvement over the 7+. Hope you get better results with the next sensor.
wow, thanks.
Wow. Day 11? Thats insane...seriously...im so frustated
2 weeks? grrr... Im about to go bk to the 7.
Same result as the others here... no soreness, better accuracy. I'd try to work things out with the G4 rather than go back; it really does perform better.
I can't imagine why you would have soreness - the probe on the G4 is significantly *smaller* than on the Seven Plus; if anything, soreness should be less of an issue, not more.
Unless there are couple of factors in play that might have nothing to do with the probe, but with your sites and sleep preferences:
1) Do you rotate insertion sites enough (i.e., always trying to insert in a new and different place on your abdomen, switching sides regularly)?
2) Do you find that you end up sleeping on your insertion site? Since the G4 has a higher profile than the Seven Plus, that might cause soreness.
3) Do you test with fingersticks A LOT on the first day (Days 1 AND 7)? You should test at least 6-10 times during the rest of the day after calibration.
Good luck with the G4!
I go back and forth, left arm to right arm (outside, lower third of the bicep). Replaced mine after two weeks today, mostly because the tape was letting go (it was sorta hanging there). No soreness at all -- not even right after I put it on. Sorry you're having trouble with it. That's frustrating..

Had my last G4 used for 21 days....!!
I am never sore. Can wear up to 3 weeks. I reinforce the tape... which is not so attractive... but wear mine on the inner upper arm... actually on the front of my shoulder. I sleep on my side...so this works really well.
interesting can you post a pic? it probably doesn't show this way, but it seems like a sensitive area...
