Has anyone here tried the Blood Type Diet?

I have just heard of this diet and don’t know much about it…it’s like the ONLY diet I’ve yet to try!! LOL I’m willing to see if something I haven’t tried yet works for me… I’ve been stuck fighting weight gain over the last year and a bit as my insulin needs have almost doubled and it’s very frustrating that the scale keeps going up despite regular workouts and healthy eating.

Not what you’re asking (I haven’t tried it), but have you considered trying metformin? I’m T1 and was stuck re: weightloss until going on it. Lowered my insulin needs too. Major game-changer, in that suddenly, when I watched my calories, I actually lost weight as expected, whereas before, nothing.

That’s amazing @cardamom! I actually spoke with my Endo about Metformin the other day, and he was open to letting me try it if I choose to do so…I may give it a whirl!

You don’t have anything to lose, but studies have pretty much debunked the idea of matching a particular diet to one’s blood type. The blood type recommendations generally result in favourable outcomes – lower BMI, lower triglycerides, lower blood pressure, and so on. But in studies, these results occur regardless of the participant’s blood type. Because, well, the followers of the diet are just generally eating better.

Yes, I was going to say, as @beacher did, that this diet has been debunked, though nothing in it is harmful - just not a magic pill. Besides, I looked at it and, being type AB, I did NOT like their recommendations on bit!
