I’ve had Steroid shots 2ce - 1 for Frozen Shoulder and 1 for Tennis Elbow. Long before using a CGM, so don’t know how they might have effected my BGs.
Nov/Dec last year I used topical Triamcinolone Creme 0.1% for somewhat similar rash on right arm. Need to look back in Dexcom Studio but believe that my insulin usage increased just a little bit - maybe 10 to 20%.
Used same in Jan/Feb for rash on back.
A month ago I went on a Steroid Dose and used Desoximetasone Creme 0.25%. The Dose definitely required more insulin, maybe 20 to 40%.
Now I am on Triamcinolone Ointment 0.1% and Prednisone and the increased insulin of 50% and double. My Derm said the scripts were lower dosage because I’m diabetic.
OK - took last Prednisone 9 days ago and quit using the ointment 4 days ago - the rash has finally stopped and back to regular sleep. Am slowly decreasing my extra insulin but still only halfway back to prior dosing levels. Apparently the steroids hang around in the body for a couple weeks or so?
