Rocker Bret Michaels is in critical condition at an undisclosed hospital after suffering a brain hemorrhage Thursday night
According to the website, the singer complained of an excruciating headache late Thursday night, then was rushed to a hospital.
A source close to the situation told People doctors discovered Michael's had suffered a massive subarachnoid hemorrhage (bleeding at the base of his brain stem).
The 47-year-old singer's latest health issue follows an emergency appendectomy he underwent in San Antonio, Texas, on April 12.
However, there is no word on whether the two incidents are related to one another.
Michaels, a diabetic, seemed to be recovering nicely after he was transferred to a rehab facility specializing in diabetic patients.
In a note to his fans, the rocker joked about being taken care of by "hot nurses" but also acknowledged the pain he was experiencing. "I have a pretty good threshold for pain, but this one hurts."
The Poison front-man most recently starred in NBC's "Celebrity Apprentice" and appeared in VH1's "Rock of Love."
