re;user's guide. There is zip as far as this goes with Dexcom. I was really surprised. Maybe as it is so personal per person and
apparently there is no overwhelming trend, they wouldn't want to commit to
a user's guide. But even examples of what can happen and what can be accomplished
(ie;good and bad) with the Dexcom would be hugely helpful.
I really couldn't figure out what to do with the triple?'s, nothing to offer as to what to do or expect in the user's manual. It's this board and a friend on the other side of the country that totally helped me out.
Odd lack of information from Dexcom, no?
The longer it's in the better my readings. And I'm sure it's also that I am learning how to make the best use of the info and warnings. Learning.
I've been using the Dexcom for 2-1/2 yrs and on average I get between 14-28 days. My own personal record is 33 days. I like to start out by inserting my sensor at night and then calibrate it in the morning so it has plenty of time to get "wet". My favorite place to wear it is upper thigh.
Do you wear it on the inside or outside of the thigh? Pointing down or up?
I wear mine on the abdomen, about 2" below my waist, near the belly button. I usually can get 2 weeks out of them before I start the dreaded ??? but I would like to try another spot.
I've been using the upper buttock area and it works great for me. I get accurate readings and I can go with the same sensor for a bit more then 3 weeks (I'm trying to get 4 weeks with my current sensor). I only recently added some tape to the adhesive but sometimes I don't even need it. I usually replace the sensor because of the ??? coming up a lot.
