I love my pod but

I’m on my fourth PDM. When I called this past time I asked if others were having this same issue with it not turning on. She told me that they have found an issue where if the batteries are pushed in with the slightest amount of pressure it disconnects two things that need to touch. So they are aware of the issue and they are currently working to fix it. I was encouraged by what she said but still really frustrated that I had to get it replaced again. Shouldn’t happen any more soon though.

She recommended putting the batteries in as gently as possible.

When you stop and think about it, if we had a cell phone, a Blackberry or another electronic device that we had to keep replacing…we might think twice about buying that particular brand again. And Yes, I know that OmniPod is working to fix it. I am thinking that over one year is enough time to fix the problem because my 1st generation PDM that came with my system in 2008 is still working very well. I do regret ordering the 2nd generation PDM. My old one is much more reliable apparently.

Medicare won’t pay, but the ASSIGNED medicare programs often will. Call insulet and ask the rep for your area. I know Humana MC Gold does, and so does Caremore in California. BUT, it is really improtant how you order the pods. When we were getting CGMS sensors on a 3 month cycle, it had a $250 co pay, by getting 1 month at a time there was NO copay? Go figure.
