Insurance doesn't cover insulin pump

Hello everyone. I just received an e-mail from a friend whose daughter wears an insulin pump. Her old pump no longer works and his new insurance doesn’t cover the cost of a new pump. Does anyone have suggestions on outlets that offer assistance for purchasing a pump? Please send them my way. Thanks!

You should try iPump.org.

I would suggest some sort of community fundraiser. People will suprise you sometimes.

You can get an Omnipod for $299 right now but the upkeep later is expensive. I don’t know if insurance would pay for it.

The first thing she should do is to appeal the decision of the insurance company. They often reject things, but then approve them once you appeal. She should get her doctor involved in the appeal.

Is her pump still under warranty?
