Hi kimmiejo! I'm sorry it took me so long to reply! Thanks so much for sharing your story. Sounds like you are doing well! I don't remember ever having my BG levels checked when I was pregnant. I have 2 kids. Is that something that is routinely checked? My kids are 8 and 11, so it seems like it was SO long ago! :) Sounds like many women with GD go on to develop diabetes later on. Thanks again for sharing! :)
Thanks again for your replies, meee! My story sure sounds similar to yours. Whatever my blood sugar situation turns out to be, I know I'm in the very early stages, which I'm thankful for. I'll just keep testing and I know what signs of trouble to look out for, too, so thank you!
I do supplement with Vit D and the bloodwork I had 18 mos ago showed I had a good level--42. Thanks for the tip, though. And I eat lots of fat and protein. The online tracker I use for my calories also shows me how much fat/carbs/protein I'm eating and I'm getting plenty of fat and protein. That's why I've been so frustrated at not being able to gain weight! :) Thanks again!
TXNURS--Thanks so much for your reply! My levels still aren't that high and they do return to normal (actually below my pre-meal number sometimes). My concern is that they are higher overall than just 18 mos. ago and now my fasting number is above normal (100-110). I'll ask for a C-Peptide for sure. Thanks again! :)
