The only thing that I read is that it has been submitted to the FDA for approval.
I'm not familiar w/the Free Style. I'll look into that.
Thank you.

The newest One Touch meter is the Verio and it uses different strips than the older One Touch and Ping meters. The Verio requires a tiny drop of blood, probably the same as the Freestyle. I was given my Verio meters by my Animas rep and I think that it is likely that it will be the provided meter with the next Animas pump.
That would be nice. I have a coupon for a free Verio but the coupon says that I have to have a dr. prescription for it and the test strips. I decided to hold off on getting it. We would want to try it out first before getting 300 test strips.
Plus, my dr. has to be able to download it for our dr. appointments. I'm not sure if they would approve this one.
I recently started analyzing reports creted w/the EZ Manager software that we got with the pump. I like having the info. from the pump and the meter together so that I can get a clear picture on what adjustments need to be made. For that reason, I think I will have to stay w/the One Touch Ping until Animas releases something else. The software doesn't look like it would let me add info. from the Contour Next. I'll have to see if it would merge info. if we had the Verio.
I sure hope the new pump gets approved soon. I really want to get a CGM on it for my son. He's starting to have a lot of unexpected lows. They are really catching us off guard. He's starting to not be able to tell that he is low sometimes. Like tonight at bedtime. He was low and didn't know it. It was 1 1/2 hours after dinner and we know that we counted his carbs correctly. He didn't do any exercise or anything that should have made him low. I guess his honeymooning pancreas decided to chip in some insulin to add to the insulin that we already gave him. Yikes. Then we treated the low, and, 2 1/2 hours later, he ended up being high and needing a correction. Nighttime corrections make me nervous, so I'll need to check him again in 2 hours to make sure that he isn't going low....and so it goes...
Do you know if the reading can be added to the pumps readings using the EZ Manager software (that came w/the Ping pump)?
I love EZ Manager because it shows me everything all together which helps me make basal adjustments when needed.
I like the small size of the Contour Next. It's so small that my son said he could just put it in his pocket (unlike the One Touch Ping meter).
Thank you for your advice.
This may have already been answered but if you check your BG with the remote and want to use the EZ Carb Bolus you MUST use the remote, it doesn't not send the BG level from the remote to the pump...stupid in my opinion, but they didn't ask me for input.
Debbie Diasend supports multiple meters and newer computer operating systems than EZ Manager. I like it much better than EZ Manager. I’m surprised your trainer didn’t teach you about Diasend as that is the direction Animas seems to going in the future.
You can go here to see more about it.
Our trainer was unfamiliar with all of the software.
Thanks for the advice. I can't wait to check out Diasend.
