Paper on the use of a chemotherapy drug converting pancreatic exocrine cells to insulin secreters

This is a long read. I think calling these converted cells to secrete insulin Beta cells is a bit disingenuous.

Questions I have, do the cells respond to blood glucose levels?

Are they immune for immune system attack?

if the cells achieve euglycemia, does the loss of exocrine cells affect the digestive functions of the exocrine pancreas?
