Possibly LADA, endo appt tomorrow

I have come across that chart, which I helpful!

I do generally feel bad when it is reading low compared to the nights/mornings when it is reading 80-90s.

They drew some labs for adrenal issues. The more I read, the more I lean towards that being the issue. Apparently it’s not uncommon to have post partum adrenal fatigue. It’s an odd puzzle that I would like someone to put together.

go back and get it reset, …on non hypo inducing meds…it’s normal to start to feel some slight symptoms at 60, a true hypo is under 50. …your body may be use to it being around 80-90. so it will notice a 60-70, as you realise, he has set it too high.

It’ll be interesting to see what your doctor makes of it. If your autoantibodies are negative, I wouldn’t be surprised if they call it all normal (others here will rush to insist that it’s not). I don’t think they’ll be considering anything as diagnostic criteria unless they’re seeing levels above 200 after eating, and even that probably not unless they see it with some frequency. As for 60s— that’s a normal level for a normal metabolism. below-70 Is really only a concern when someone is taking medications that can drive the levels lower…

I’m 2 hours from the endo. I looked up how to change the alarm levels, but I don’t want to risk messing up the data. I mail it back to them Wed morning, so I’m just going to wrap it in a towel and put it in my bedside drawer and hope I don’t hear it over night.

I feel weak, hungry, and shaky when I’m in the low 70s while awake and just a little sweaty and super sleepy/lethargic in the low 60s at night. The baby is still waking to nurse or else I probably wouldn’t wake from it.

It will be interesting to see the cause. If I didn’t feel horrible with the spikes and dips, I wouldn’t really be all that concerned, or even have noticed, but it’s difficult to care for 4 kids (homeschooling the older 2) while feeling “off” most of the time.

I appreciate all the input and ideas. Will let you know how it turns out.

My understanding is that it’s not necessarily the 70 that is making you feel low, it’s how fast you got there/where it was coming from. I don’t feel a 70 when I’ve been in the 70s/80s for the past few hours (purely hypothetical hahaha when has this ever happened…) but I feel that 70 real hard when it comes down from 150 or 200 an hour prior. Does that make sense?

Like most things involving diabetes, there’s more than one way to skin a cat and each individual’s response may differ. You can feel “low” symptoms because you really are low, or simply because you are dropping very fast. Or both. Some people tend to experience it one way, some the other, some both. With diabetes there’s almost never a simple, direct, 100%-always answer.

Isn’t this fun?

Well here is my confusing update. I got a call back on Thursday and the NP said my labs ‘looked good’ (I am waiting on a copy), but the results from the CGM were ‘troubling’. She wasn’t concerned with the post prandial spikes into the mid-upper 100s (while starting in the 70-80s pre meal), but the fasting hypos concerned her. Out of the 7 nights I wore it, I know I was in the low 60s two of the nights. It may have gone into the 50s, but I stuck it in a drawer and went back to sleep. In the morning following those nights, I had breakfast (waffle, PB, banana) and returned hypo about an hour after. I continued to snack every 1.5-2h like I normally do and finally maintained above 80 by 10:30. The afternoon and evening is when I spike with meals…never in the morning (despite a donut one day and cinnamon rolls another!). None if it makes sense. She and another Dr in the practice want me to do a 72h fast in a hospital setting to rule out an insluinoma. She threw all this on me over the phone while I had 4 kids running around, so I couldn’t quite wrap my head around all the info and ask questions. I will be talking with her tomorrow and getting a second opinion, but that’s where I am now. I’ve cut back on carbs a good bit and am feeling much better (no more headaches!) so I assume I’m not having the drastic (to me) swings in blood sugar but still have to eat every 2 h.

Just wanted to update.
