Post site change high for minimed users?

I saw some discussions about post site change highs for Omnipod users. Anyone notice that with the minimed?

Ive never noticed it with my Minimed. Usually for me my post site change numbers are better, fresher insulin being infused. I tend to get higer around 3 1/2-4 days.

I'm on a Ping and always go high after site changes. I do a little 0.5 unit bolus when I change sites and still go high for a few hours immediately after changing it, often will even get some ketones. It's almost like there's a little interruption in insulin absorption or something. Once the high comes down I get great numbers with a new site.

I was talking to my CDE about it and she says it's pretty common to go high after site changes. She recommended keeping the old site in for a few hours, which I do as well.

Nope, in fact, usually my post-site change numbers are better what with the fresh insulin and all. Like Christy, I see my highs emerge after I've been wearing the same site for more than 3 days. Sometimes I can get a fully 4 days out of a site, but anything after that is usually high city. I think it's a combo of poorer absorption and less fresh insulin.

Yes, I often go high after set changes. I used to always change my infusion sets first thing in the morning and never figured out that some of my occasional post-breakfast spikes were related to set changes.

What I try to do now is change the site mid-morning after my post-breakfast exercise when I tend to start going low. Or maybe in the afternoon if I'm tending low. For me it works best to change the site when my insulin needs are at a minimum.

I use Silhouettes that ask for a .7 fixed prime. I usually do 1.0, but I'm not convinced that's enough if I do it near mealtime. I've read of people who bolus 5 units every time they change an infusion set. That would be excessive for me, but it certainly indicates that you're not alone in your problem.
