@PDR_T2 - PDR is always a concern, and it’s been discussed on multiple threads on this site. Try searching the site (click on Magnifying Glass at top right of page) for terms like vitrectomy

After being diabetic for 20+ years I started to have some retinopathy issues. The retinopathy started a little over two years ago. I have had multiple laser treatments, injections and also had a vitrectomy in my right eye. It has been over a year since the vitrectomy and I have not had any issues since then.
