Question about blood work for tomorrow

I have a quick question in reference to the blood work I am getting draw tomorrow at my very first endocrinologist appointment. I have never have an antibodie panel done so I've requested this. Just want to make sure I have everything covered while I'm there. I have requested that the following labs be drawn:

ICA
GADA
IA-2A
IAA
C-Peptide

Am I missing anything? I am SO ready to get a true diagnosis!!!!!! :)

That is the full suite of autoantibody tests that, if positive, indicate Type 1 autoimmune diabetes. C-peptide isn't an autoantibody test, but does measure the amount of endogenous insulin your body is producing. Good luck! Be sure to look at the actual lab report, not just be told the information.

Thanks so much for the reply!

I'll def. get a full print out of the report when it comes back.

Don't forget to get a standard metabolic panel. You need to know your glucose at the time of the c-peptide test and it is important to have the other things in the panel as well.

Thanks Brian. I actually had that drawn less than 1 month ago at my PCP. But they will do a random fasting BG also.

if you're testing cpeptide and cholesterol, you have to be fasting. also, if you're seeing an endo, he/she will know what antibody tests to test you for.
