Reaction to higher dose of age 65+ flu vaccine

Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommends that adults 65 years and above should receive a flu vaccination each year and most of them are not aware there are 2 Flu Vaccines that are to be considered for people 65 years and above include Fluad and Fluzone High-Dose (HD).

Fluad creates a stronger immune response to immunization than the standard trivalent vaccine alone. Fluzone HD contains 4 times the antigen as the standard trivalent dose. These two flu vaccines are administered intramuscularly as a single dose of 0.5 ml.

This vaccination includes side effects like pain, swelling or redness at the injection site, muscle pain, malaise, and headache which are mild.
