Runner's High

Ok, so what’s the approach for handling things when BS goes up during exercise.

Today’s 1 hour run resulted in a 20 point rise in bs (from 88 - 108), without eating and without meds (I always exercise before I take the morning insulin or food).

Obviously this means I don’t have to worry about lows during morning exercise. And I’m sure that exercise is very good for me, regardless of the rise in BS. I don’t know yet if I could get lows if I exercised after taking insulin, I guess I’ll have to experiment.

I am only on twice a day injection of mixed insulin, no bolusing.

I want to get back into my sport, which is triathlon (longer distance: Half and hopefully full).

How do people handle longer duration exercise? I’ve been searching the forums and reading up too.
