Seriously considering an extended pump vacation

Yes. Gary Scheiner is helping me. I really have appreciated him reviewing my pump settings. And the customer service has been great too. I bought the black Friday offer so I am on my first month, and have one left before I make a final decision.

Yeah. The MySugr bundle wasn’t really attractive before, but I had a great insurance plan with a zero copay once I hit my deductible. My current copay with insurance, I think, ends up being more than the MySugr bundle. Therefore, I might switch over to it. Of course, I’m hoping I can eventually transition off of this ACA plan too. I’ve had an ACA plan for just two months and don’t really like it. I’ve upgraded to the gold version of this plan for next year, so I’ll see if that helps with costs. If not, I’m switching over ASAP.

I’ve heard about the pens that give you input on how much insulin to take. Overall, I’m fine with the insulin calculator apps that are out there. What would be nice is to have something that’s tracking insulin on board. PredictBGL does that. I can eyeball the info I put into MySugr, and I have a strong feeling for how much insulin I’ve got still hanging out. It would be nice to have something to confirm that though.

And nice info on the coach. Once I get back to work, I might look into how much they charge for that service too.

I think this new pen has IOB built into it. It utilizes a phone app. The bundle plan comes with coaching, 250 strips to start, meter and lancing device.I have not yet used up my first 250 strips so we’ll see how it goes when I run out. The customer service is prompt and friendly…

Nice! I’ve done the research and paid my healthcare premiums for 2018. While I was taking care of that, I double checked my co-pay for Accu-chek Guide strips. It would be more per month than the mySugr bundle, so decision made. Having a coach will be awesome too. I totally need one. I’ve still got plenty of OneTouch strips, so I’ll wait until January to join. But I’ll be joining the mySugr herd because it’s the most cost-effective option for me for now. I’m thrilled I’ve been using this app for a couple of years now. I can’t remember how I found them. I already have the meter from my endo’s office, so I’m assuming I’d just start getting strips because I don’t need the same meter again. We’ll see.

I use a lot of strips I guess…
I paid for the second month, got the first free on a black Friday offer. And I already have my second order of strips and they sent way more than expected. I am very happy. And the coaching is helping some issues I had. It gives me a third party besides me and my CDE. I am pleased. I hate the strips but for the price I can deal. I too have a One touch stockpile. I am good to go! And I’m sorry but I do love the little My Sugr monster…
