Start Sooner

I have been T2 for over 20 years but only 2 years on insulin. Knowing what I now know if I could turn back the clock I would have started insulin much sooner.

I find insulin much preferable to most oral meds on the market. I was finally able to gain control with insulin, something I was never able to do before. Once I got over the needle phobia I started wondering why I didn't do this before.

In my book Insulin Rocks. How do you feel?

I agree. an t2 for 30 years and now on insulin - humalog lispro anf fully agree with the comments.

The oral pills = glyburide/glimpirise/starlix were a disaster.
Also on metformin and that has been a miracle drug arresting dam liver leak.

I agree, I thought it would be the end of the world to start insulin and then I have been reading that it might have protected some of the beta cells I still had. I wish I had started much sooner. I have used Humalog and Levemir for over 5 years now and I am so grateful for them.

I still take metformin twice daily even though it messes up my stomach, but the endo says I really need it.

Some of the oral meds were very hard on me and I would have been happy to skip some of that, too.
