Tandem decision

In my EDIT above I indicated I was gobsmacked to learn I was at a 45/45 split, because it’s not at all where I was at with my manual pump and I thought I was just getting a somewhat more refined and dialed in version of that with CIQ. As I’ve looked at my tracks and tried to understand what’s going on, I think the explanation is this:

Even though my basals are the same, transferred over from my manual pump, they are no longer fixed but are being adjusted by the algorithm on an ongoing basis. This is essentially giving me much better “resolution” in conforming my insulin to my actual requirements. The big, hours-long increments of my basal settings are being modified in realtime such that I’m actually getting LESS basal, while my bolusing and meal habits have remained more or less the same. It’s telling me that I was actually taking a bit more insulin than I needed for basic maintenance. So reducing that is a good thing.

BTW, the 45/45 split was my 7 day average, but in the individual days I see some pretty wide variance from that average. One of the days was 75/25, e.g. As we know from A1C, averages can be deceiving…

Siri, what kind of tape do you use to keep from yanking out your set?

The one I use is called Scanpor White Tape.

All pharmacies where I live have them. Looks like this:
