Test for Insulin Resistance

Does anyone here know if there's a "test" for insulin resistance? I know that most doctors go by the c-peptide to see if there's an abnormally high level of insulin, but is there a test to test the insulin resistance itself, rather than the c-peptide and insulin levels?

Thanks

To my understanding there is no "test" for IR. IR is usually indicated by a high c-peptide - people with IR make lots of insulin but can't use it well. It is also indicated by need for exogynous insulin. Insulin doses for people with and without IR are noticeably different. Same reason: It takes a lot more insulin to combat the IR.
