Depending on where you go, you may even be able to get a pancreas tx without prednisone. I have been steroid free with my kidney since 2002 (pancreas in 2008). I think I still like to post on these boards because I feel it would be a waste of my 42 years of diabetes experience if I didn’t try to lend a hand when it came to the stuff I have so much experience with. As for the drugs, I am on a number of different drugs for different things, but the anti-rejection stuff is only twice per day and not that onerous. Because I am careful (Purell is my best friend) I don’t get sick that often either. As I said, if you need a kidney, it’s definitely something to consider.
