Warts and the healing process

Hey ya’ll! I understand that not everything health related is related to my diabetes. However, I suspect I have a wart on the bottom of my foot. I haven’t had one since before I was diagnosed with diabetes. I can’t say for sure if it’s a wart, because it looks more like a zit. It might be the beginning of a plantar wart, without the hardening skin over it. Anyway, I was wondering how that tied in with our weaker immune systems. I’m thinking of trying some at home remedies first, then possibly going in to get it removed if it gets worse. Any experiences or advice with warts and foot care would be greatly appreciated!

PWD do not have weaker immune systems. This is a far-too-common misconception.

I highly recommend getting and reading Gary Scheiner’s Think Like a Pancreas, then John Walsh’s Using Insulin and Pumping Insulin ASAP.

Thanks for all the feedback! And it’s true. I don’t want to join, but I’ve had an immense amount of support. that’s good to know! I always thought I had a weaker immune system…

Our immune system may not be weaker, it just has this weird tendency to attack the wrong things.

have good BG for foot care… for a T1 is don’t let anyone use a pumice stone or a podiatrist use a knife on calluses…leave them alone.

Good to know. Same thing for warts and any other injuries? What about soaking it in water?

Haha that’s very true.
