It appears that eating and the food intake is the hardest for most of us, exercise comes in next, and the awesomeness of the disease itself was right up there.
So, I am a person of trying to find answers. What would you do, what could you do to solve just a small part of what is hardest for you?
My hardest part was eating; and let me add journaling that food along with it. I have journaled my meals for so long in WW, that it should be second nature, but it’s not, and looking up carbs is very time consuming it appears to me. I need to make up a menu for the week or even day would be better, then stick to it. Not allow time to take over, and plan my meals. We eat out entirely too much, so I need to plan better so we don’t have to eat out and when we do, don’t pick the fast food places all the time.
So part of my solution will be planning a menu for each day, and journaling what I eat each day.
Now what small change or changes could you make to improve on the hardest thing that you shared here?
thanks, I learned so much from your answers, agreed with so much, thanks again.

the hardest part for me is food… unless im going to the gym i can really careless about what i eat… thats why ive made a meal plan and plan on signing up for the gym… exercise hasnt really been a problem for me but i cant do it at home im just not motivated`
good call i understand it is hard juggling everything in life… but like you said its what makes life worth living!
Cathy, since you’re on the computer anyway, go to fitday.com and journal there. It will compute the nutritional information for you automatically.
BUT, you do do it…that’s the point. I was told by several trainers and people who exercise, while I was losing weight, that even daily chores, etc can be considered exercise. So don’t put yourself down for what you are doing…cause you are DOING something.
And why would you have to give them up? That’s life. If I had to chose between my kids and husband and diabetes. I’d take them anytime…and chuck the diabetic care. But one of the reasons that I keep trying to take care of myself is because of them.
Could I suggest that there is NO PERFECT in control. We all do the best we can, and strive to be healthy for ourselves and our families. Perfect isn’t in the vocab of diabetes, there are way too many variables.
Great idea, thanks for the info…sounds like a great plan.
My hardest part is goin for a walk.I just off the alarm button and continue sleeping. But many days i stick to my walking schedule.
Second part is food.,slightly i go off track but bring back to my diet.
medicine is the easiest of all ,i never miss it.
The hardest part for me is portion control so some foods I don’t eat anymore, such as anything with sugar and empty calories in it: cake, pie, cookies, brownies, candy, etc.
For me… it’s the exercize… but not the way you think…I LOVE working out… it is my ME time. The problem is after one hour I go hypo…
I thought at first maybe I wasnt eating enough carbs so the next day I ate a big lunch…extra carbs… and went.
Still went hypo.
I thought maybe I waited too long after I ate… so the next time I only waited an hour before working out…hypo AGAIN!!
I went home crying… so frustrated… My mom was freaked out because I walked in the door bawling my eyes out…asked me why and I just blubbered something about I didnt know what the heck I was doing wrong.
Then I thought about these meal replacement things that I used to drink when I didnt have time to eat before I was diagnosed… you can buy them at the drugstore, I figured I would ask the pharmasist if it would be okay if I drank them. But to my suprise I saw a drink called GLUCERNA and it is especially for diabetics!!
So I bought a pack and took it to the gym with me. YAY!!! success!!! It is just enough to tide me over until my next meal!!
I always have them in my gymbag now!
