I have a severe visual impairment and use a white cane for mobility. Trust me, you don’t want me driving.
My city has an excellent public transit system, so I get around with a combination of walking, buses, trains, boats, and cabs. If I could see well, I’d actually choose biking over driving. I think being able to ride a bike everywhere would be awesome.
I’ve heard someone say the BG should be over 80 to drive. Someone else said at least 100. I suspect there may be differences by state and by country. If you are in the US, check for any specific laws by state here:

If in another country you’d need to search for information by country. Of course, a major consideration is that one shouldn’t be driving with a hypo, and could be found legally responsible for an accident if one has a hypo when involved in an accident. In the UK, I know that one has to go through extra hoops if one is on insulin and possibly on other diabetic meds, as well.
