A G6 review

Dexcom coordinates G5 to G6 upgrade based on when your transmitter is due to expire. I can’t remember the exact time but it is like 21 days before your transmitter expires, they will tell you that you are ready for your upgrade. You can always call them if you have the patience and they will tell you the exact date. Calling them has the advantage that you can get your order a little earlier by knowing your exact upgrade eligibility date and ordering on that date. Otherwise they may cut the time before your transmitter ends a little short and with various processing and shipping screw-ups you could end up expired on the G5 and not yet have the G6 in hand.

Thanks C. I will definitely not be expired on the G5, so I will just wait and be surprised. I don’t mind being without one.

I find this especially likely to happen when there’s a lot of other Wi-Fi and Bluetooth equipment around like when I’m at the office. But other times it happens yes just a few feet away when there is no obvious interference. I rearrange things and the signal picks up again.

I had to change to the G6 right about the time we went into SIP, so I haven’t been to the office with it (Hi-Tech company, lots of interference I bet). But I’m sure I will run out before they let us back on site so I will probably never know.

This applies for those ordering through dexcom. Not sure how the DMEs or pharmacys are going to handle, so some may need to be more proactive based on knowing when transmitter runs out.

New G6 RX need to be done.
