Accu Chek Aviva test strip question

So, I’ve been having an exceedingly frustrating day, and my conversation with the Aviva customer rep now didn’t help. (Definitely having one of those “chuck the meter across the room” sort of days . . . am getting very sick of this diabetes thing . . . .)

Started a new vial of strips today; got a higher-than-expected number. Cross-checked with older strips in a different Aviva and got a lower number. So, like any good scientist-wannabe, I did an experiment:
Meter A, old strips (blood)
Meter B, old strips (blood)
Meter A, new strips (blood)
Meter B, new strips (blood)

The new strips were consistently higher with differences outside of tolerances.

The Aviva lady informed me that even though I got a 147/126 with the new strips and a 110/112 with the old ones, since control solutions all checked out, it’s not a problem, and I should talk to my doctor about my sugars. (We’ll leave aside that, after dealing with her, my blood sugar is probably reading “Domino 10x . . . .”)

Here’s the question: The new strips have a code number of 201909, instead of the 301xxx that every other batch I’ve ever had has. Has anyone else using a US meter gotten a batch of strips with a 201xxx code?

Thanks,

– Dov
