I’m shopping around and pulling my hair out at how hard it is to “shop the details”. Anyone have a Covered California plan and either like it or hate it? I’m not on a pump or CGM now but would like to have the option (DME coverage).
Hi I haven’t been on the site for a bit and just saw your post. I do have covered california since I got laid off this past June. I have not had a problem with it as all my doctors seem to be accept it so far. My husband on the other hand has a couple of his doctors that are not so we had to pay cash to them. The one thing I do not like is that the deductible and out of pocket expenses are so high ($3600 deductible and $6400 out of pocket max for each of us) We purchased a plan that had a low monthly payment so that is why we have the higher deductible and out of pocket max but to get lower ones the monthly was way too expensive. I don’t really think that the health coverage is very affordable but at least if something major happens we won’t go bankrupt. Also I find the medicine coverage to be expensive, we hardly use it as we find the drug discount plans to be very affordable for us. I saw your post (old post from 2017) asking about Covered California covering CGMs. I am considering CoveredCalifornia now but need insurance that will cover a CGM. Have you had subsequent experience with CovCA and CGMs ? Do you know if they cover ?
