Ugg, we seem to have met a max on our apidra gift card, it will not fill over 15 vials, eeks and the price actually went up from 120 at walmart to 159$ eeks! Tried to activate a new card, but they are still showing we "maxed out/ on the benefit!
Any new fast acting insulins on the horizon?
I have to tell you, the Apridra deal is not the norm. If you recall, in 2011 Sanofi experienced a manufacturing problem and there was a serious worldwide shortage of Apridra. In an effort to maintain their customer base, they gave out gift cards. But I suspect the party has come to an end. There are some new fast insulin's in the pipeline, but I'm not aware of any that are likely to be released in the short term. There are a few teaser discounts, I believe Humalog will give you a free box of five pens, but they are all limited and are really "free trials." Nothing to substantially affect the long-term costs. You will likely have to just look at the options and do your best to choose the most affordable option that works.
