Today is the annual American Diabetes Association’s annual conference thats happening for the next 5 days.
I learned a few things today: ( I will give you 2 )
- having a hypo is not as bad on the brain as once thought. But having very high BS and DKA are bad on the brain.
- For those that exercise your dementia risk factor drops down to 1.9 fold
But for those whos A1C is above 7% and does not exercise your dementia risk goes up to 5 fold.

Adults who were diagnosed with type 1 diabetes during childhood have the highest risk of developing cognitive impairments vs. those diagnosed during adulthood.
