Today is the annual American Diabetes Association’s annual conference thats happening for the next 5 days.

I learned a few things today: ( I will give you 2 )

  1. having a hypo is not as bad on the brain as once thought. But having very high BS and DKA are bad on the brain.


  1. For those that exercise your dementia risk factor drops down to 1.9 fold

But for those whos A1C is above 7% and does not exercise your dementia risk goes up 5 fold.


Adults who were diagnosed with type 1 diabetes during childhood have the highest risk of developing cognitive impairments vs. those diagnosed during adulthood.
