My fasting BG was 100 this morning. It had been pretty stable in the low 80s but crept up over the last few days. My PP numbers have been higher also. I just came down with a cold and have a sore throat and cough. Can this affect BG or is the honeymoon over?
YEs illness can affect blood sugar. Whenever I get sick i have more trouble with my BS’s which are normally stable when I am not sick.
Unfortunately Cody is right. your levels will likely react differently when you are sick. It is also possible that you are phasing out of your honeymoon period which will then affect your levels. You will need to adjust for both scenarios. Unfortunately, there really isn’t a formula for getting sick or moving out of the honeymoon stage. Just make sure to keep an extra careful eye on your levels.
