Mel,

After reading your story I want to say that I am shocked but, I can not. I have several different one touch meters and a wavesense meter as well. Most are with in a few points of each other but, I see the frustration you must be going through. When I got the second meter I tested them against each other from the same drop of blood I squeezed from the same finger. I was expecting them to be very similar. They varied enough where I would be low on one and normal on the other. I have come to know my own baseline and the only time I noticed a difference was when I had changed strips and forgot to re code my meter. I have been using one meter at work one at home and occasionally a 3rd meter for when I am out and about. I test about 4-5 times a day and know about where I am most of the time. It is amazing to me how these companies charge so much for the strips in the name of R&D… when with they make a meter that reads the same and another one of their meters. If I was sampling from the same blood draw would I get the same results. My new strips dont seem to be more accurate but they are now thicker because they added the name one touch to the strips. R&D or Marketing??? Where is the money really going???
