Colorado caps insulin prices

I thought that I would be able to buy over the counter insulin easier if I ever froze my insulin skiing there. Doesn’t work, though, because insurance usually doesn’t work out of state. And, it only applies to copays. Might take 6 months to become a resident. Although, I’m sure that syringes are over the counter in CO.

Not easy to do. My son went to school in Boulder and expected to be able to get the instate college tuition rate by buying a condo which he then planned to sell after graduation and move back out of state. Colorado said that buying a condo was not sufficient for him to establish residency for instate tuition.

I would LOVE to see that whole enterprise shut down over night.

100 billion dollars wile serving no real function at all. “list price” and “rebates” bla bla bla , 100 billion dollars for stupid games, shut them all down.

Most of this is just what I wrote on another thread. I added some.

Just because other countries spend more, doesn’t mean it’s better. In the UK for example if you are a T2, they do not cover meters or your test strips unless you are on insulin. And only 10% of T1’s qualify for a Libre and never a Dexcom. You only ever qualify for a Libre if you have poor control. And people are on waiting lists for pumps, sometimes over 10 years. They have a lot more limited pick of doctors, and I’m not even talking specialists, just your regular old GP and they have to wait to see them. They will wait a year for knee surgery. I just talked to someone that couldn’t get antibiotics for 2 days because they send off the urine sample to be tested to see if there is bacteria before they will prescribe an antibiotic. I’m not talking a culture, just that simple stick dip to know if there is bacteria at all. Here they do it in office or if you have the symptoms, go ahead and prescribe it. They also will wait a month for blood test results etc etc. The list goes on.

Their excuse for not supplying meters and test strips? It’s unnecessary to test.

Our system is not perfect by far, there is a lot that needs fixing. Drug prices being one of them.

The grass is not always greener.
