I have been type 1 for almost 30 years (dx at 3) and in the last 10 years I have started with long term complications. I have had so much laser treatment on both eyes that I cannot have any more (luckily this is now under control). I have had neuropathy for 12 years in my feet. Whilst this can be painful I have found that having reflexology once a month helps an awful lot. But the biggest one is my kidneys are failing. I was told 12 months ago that I would have 12 - 18 months left but I was just told in Dec it would still be another 12-18 months so it may have calmed down. Does anyone else have complications because no one seems to talk about them? (I started on a pump last summer).
